Howies shop

Howiesshop

Regular readers of the We Made This Blog will already know of our soft spot for clothing company Howies. They make great clothes and try to make the world a better place at the same time. There's a great history about how they set the company up on their site, and this post about some bags they designed gives a good feel for what they're all about.

So far they've been a mail-order company primarily, just supplying a few shops here and there, but being bought out by Timberland has obviously given them a bit of cash to play with, and they've opened their first shop, at 42 Carnaby Street in London. They've always combined selling clothes with making people think (just check out their doormat), and have even devoted a fair proportion of their shop to ideas rather than clothes. Lovely stuff.
